Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are your cancellation policies?

A: Any and all requests regardless of the nature must be phoned/texted in through the main line (763-498-4470). This ensures accurate scheduling, billing and payroll. We cannot, and will not guarantee service that is requested by calling your walker directly.

All cancellations on dog walking services must be made by 9 a.m. the day of. Failure to do so will result in you being charged for that day.

All cancellations on dog sitting services must be made within 24 hours of the first scheduled visit. Failure to do so will result in a cancellation charge of $30 dollars.

Frequent Cancellations

Even with giving the appropriate notice, please understand that frequent cancellations are unfair to other clients who may have not been able to book visits on a busy weekend/holiday. They are also unfair to the Walk my Pups staff. Frequent cancellations may result in termination of services.

Weather Cancellations

Every effort will be made to provide uninterrupted services. Notification of cancellation due to snow (or inclement weather) will be made on a daily basis. In excessive temperatures or weather conditions, Walk my Pups will use its discretion if it is too dangerous for rigorous exercise. Please understand the health concerns involved and that weather is erratic and therefore you will not be charged for dog walking or pet sitting services.

Cancellation of Service

Walk my Pups requires two weeks’ notice for dog walking service cancellations. In the event that notice is not given, you will be charged the equivalent of two full weeks of service.


Q: How does payment work?

A: For dog walking services we ask that clients pay on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly schedule. For those of you who go out of town, payment must be left before your departure. Walk my Pups takes only checks at this time.


Q: What do I do if I'm home sick from work?

A: Please understand that Walk my Pups does everything in its power to provide uninterrupted services. However, due to the numerous houses we travel to on our daily circuit, we ask that if you are sick that you please cancel. All cancellations will be free of charge if phoned in by 9 a.m. the day of.


Q: I have the day off, but I still would like you to walk and play with my pup, what should I do?

A: Please let us know if you are planning on being home for the day. Other persons in the house while a Walk my Pups employee is providing service is a liability and will not be tolerated. For the safety of Walk my Pups as well as your pets and home if we find any unknown vehicles or persons at your residence we will not be able to enter and law enforcement may be phoned. We want to create a safe environment for all of our workers as well as your furry friend!


Q: What do I do if my dog is sick?

A: After making sure you give your pup proper care, make sure to ask if your dog is contagious. Walk my Pups will not be able to provide care as we don't want our other clients falling ill. Otherwise we'd be happy to give your furry companion some mid-day comfort.


Q: Do you clean up accidents in the house?

A: Although we ask that your dog is crate/house trained, we understand accidents can happen. Walk my Pups always cleans up any messes within our sight on our visits, free of charge.


Q: Do you have training in pet first aid?

A: Proudly certified by the American Red Cross in Pet First Aid!


Q: Are you comfortable administering medication?

A: Of course! And unlike most pet services, we'll do it free of charge.


Q: My pet is a bit "naughty" do you work with pets that have behavioral issues?

A: Yes, as long as any and all issues are disclosed in our initial free consultation. We just ask that you are honest in your pet's faults so we can work with and embrace them.


Q: How do I know you've been to my house for visits?

A: Walk my Pups has a neat little notebook we'll give you that lets us leave you fun notes about what we did with your pet! There is even a convenient note section in the front for anything extra you'd like us to know.


Q: Do you have a referral program?

A: Yes! Any successful client you refer our way earns you a $20 credit that is good on any service, at any time, with any other offer. More clients for us, means greater savings for you!


Q: I go out of town a lot, do you have any packages or loyalty reward cards?

A: Walk my Pups just launched a new packages program that can be found on our website under "Services." We also have a new loyalty rewards card where you purchase 10 days of pet sitting and get the 11th day half off!


Q: How can I save some money on services?

A: Always be checking on the Walk my Pups website to see our featured coupons and deals we have going on. Like right now, if you write us a testimonial on Thumbtack you get a $5 credit! Signing up for our newsletter, "What's up Dog?" also gives you exclusive coupons.
